Lead and top rope climbing challenges are set for competitiors on Saturday.
Climbing teams and individuals from Sierra Nevada College, UC Davis, San Jose State, Fresno State, Sonoma State and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo are all coming to High Altitude Fitness to compete in the new Northern California Divisional Series.

With the opening of the climbing wall, Jason Burd wanted to draw events such as this to Incline Village.

“My goal is to be a venue that draws people into the community,” Burd said

Two prior events during the grand opening weekend brought people in all around the lake as well as Carson City and Reno.

“We are ready for a great day. It has been a lot of work and I think the payoff will be great. I would love to have people spend the day here on Saturday watching and participating in all the events and hang around and enjoy some skiing on Sunday,” Burd continued.

After the CCS competition its time for the locals to hit the wall.

There are two divisions for men and women, under 35 and over 35. The locals competition is free to attend and registration is free as well.

Capping off the days’ events is the Tahoe Adventure Film Festival “Best Action Sports Films of the Year” which features film highlights and specials hosted by Todd Offenbacher, adventurer, and popular TV host for the Resort Sports Network Television.

The Northern California Region College Climbing Series event starts at 10 a.m. and finishes with the awards at 2 p.m. The Local Competition will begins at 4 p.m. and will end at about 6 p.m. and the Tahoe Adventure Film Series begins at 7 p.m.

All events are free. High Altitude Fitness is located at 880 Northwood Boulevard in Incline Village. Visit www.highaltitudefit.net for information.
